Girls Hockey

PROFESSIONAL LEVEL PROGRAM
The inaugural FEIA Falcons Girls Hockey Program will compete as a U18AA team with an extensive schedule already set in place for the season. The schedule currently features 45 games, mostly versus U.S.-based programs. The Falcons will be competing in several showcase tournaments, including the Fall Foliage Classic in Burlington, Vermont in October, the Syracuse Valley Eagles Showcase in November and the Gilmour Academy Showcase in Cleveland, Ohio in December.
The program includes a special trip to Pittsburgh in February to play the Penguins Elite Program. While in Pittsburgh, the team is scheduled to visit NCAA DI Robert Morris University and NCAA DIII Chatham University. The Falcons will be visiting several other USport and NCAA programs over the season when time permits. The goal is for student-athletes to gain exposure to the differences between post-secondary leagues and programs and understand the level of hockey and commitment required to play university hockey in Canada and the U.S.
The Falcons are scheduled to practice four times a week, attend hockey lab (video/strategy/motivation/philosophy) once a week and take part in strength and conditioning each weekday.
Team building is an integral part of Falcons Hockey. The girls will be participating in various activities over the season to build friendships and teamwork and, most importantly, to have fun. When their academic and hockey schedules permit, the Falcons will jump over the border to attend Buffalo Beauts’ games, and the Beauts have committed to sending players and coaches to attend practices and team activities from time to time—a great way to expose student-athletes to the Premier Hockey Federation, women’s professional hockey at the highest level.
