The campus covers an area of 80 000 m2 and has first-class teaching facilities including: 2 teaching buildings, 2 dormitory buildings, 12 science labs, 12 skills training internship workshops, 2 indoor basketball gymnasiums, 2 libraries, 2 dining halls, a 400-seat theatre, a fitness room, a community room, an outdoor soccer field, as well as an indoor swimming pool.

New Residence

FEIA’s brand-new on-campus residence can house up to 400 students. With the assistance of our residence managers, this experience teaches students about the responsibilities of living collaboratively and encourages leadership, initiative and cooperation to work together as a team. Our new residence is designed to provide our student body with the opportunity to congregate, study individually and in groups, and partake in after-school activities. Joining the FEIA family means more than just studying abroad, it is an overarching experience that broadens students’ horizons, teaches them key life skills, provides world class education, and encourages them to make community connections.

Residential Life

Residential life at Fort Erie International Academy can be summed up in three words: active, exciting, and life-changing.

This is the time in your life where you’ll learn to become independent, be accountable for your actions, get along with others, make important life decisions, form lifelong relationships, and develop skills that will help make your transition to college a smooth one. But you won’t be alone—you’ll be surrounded by a community of caring people, ranging from your academic advisor to your house parent to supportive peers. You’ll form lasting bonds with your fellow residents—and new friends—as you live, learn, study, and play together.

Life in residence is carefully monitored by heads of house, resident leaders, and other staff who help to create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. A key student leadership position includes resident leaders who receive training to act as a resource for students with questions or concerns. These leaders act in a supporting role for students and help a great deal in building a safe residential community.

Through group meetings, students create and manage their living environment. Once a week, members of each residence house gather in their lounges to discuss concerns and possible solutions, vote on decisions, and share ideas. You’ll learn how to become a leader of character and integrity, learn to work with others, effectively run meetings, consider other viewpoints, and communicate with a diverse range of people.

Through a series of house leadership, house and school activities, and special weekend programs, boarders develop lifelong memories and lasting friendships.

There are various activities in FEIA houses that include trivia challenge night, Spotify club, board games night, as well as a plethora of sports activities ranging from floor hockey to indoor games. Students may take part in a supervised swim or join in one of the many activities. There is never a boring night in the various houses and there is always something to get involved in. Keeping the students focused and busy in a positive manner makes Boarding Life a fun and exciting place to be!

Monthly inter-house competitions bring out the best spirit in all houses. House competitions are intense, but fun rivalries.

Health & Safety

As the care providers for our international students, health and safety is a key aspect of life at FEIA. We have a number of policies and procedures in place to ensure the well-being of all of our students.

Fresh Healthy Meals

FEIA provides buffet-style healthy meals prepared by qualified chefs in our on-campus dining hall. There are a variety of food choices from different cultures, utilizing locally grown produce whenever possible, to encourage healthy eating habits. We are able to accommodate a wide variety of dietary restrictions and ensure students receive nutritious, delicious, and fresh meals.

Parental Communications

Part of our commitment to students and their families is a comprehensive health and safety plan that encompasses physical and mental health support, addresses bullying and drug/alcohol use, and ensures a safe and supportive living and learning environment 24 hours a day. Parent-school communication ensures parents are kept up to date with accurate information regarding the school and students’ academic performance, health, and safety, boosting family engagement.
