In support of the Fort Erie Fire Department’s food and bottle drive, FEIA has collected a trunk full of non-perishable food items.
Our Grade 7 & 8 students helped to package it all up today and VP, Mr. Ford dropped our donations off to the team at Central Fire Station this afternoon. A big thanks to all those who contributed!
COMING UP NEXT WEEK
On Wednesday, September 30th, staff and students will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run by donating a toonie for Terry and completing a 1km walk during 2nd period.
We’ll also be wearing Orange, affirming our commitment to raise awareness of the residential school survivors. Wearing orange shirts symbolizes defiance against those things that undermine any child’s self-esteem, and of our commitment to anti-racism and anti-bullying.
A HUGE shout out to Carrie McNeill; our bulletin board fashionista. Carrie creates all the fabulous information boards you see around the school to keep our staff and students in the know. Thanks Carrie – you’re a FEIA RockStar!
FEIA FALCONS UPDATE
We’ve partnered with Front Row Sports for our on-ice gear! Check out Coaches Carson and Jessie showing off our new team sticks, and Head Principal Stella with a sneak peek of what our Jerseys will look like. Keep an eye out for our Falcon update in next week’s newsletter, as we’ll be revealing our 2020 game schedule
We mentioned last week that, based on student feedback, we were sourcing a new food supplier for our meals. We’ve teamed up with Shawn Murphy at Your Farm Gate to develop healthy and nutritious meal plans for the school. It seems our students are pleased with the results!
A quote from our suggestion box reads “Food Has improved tremendously”, while another states “Well done and compliments to the Chef; portions and nutrition is great!”. Above, Shawn is prepping Monday’s lunch of bavette (flank steak) fajitas, rice, beans and vegetables.
